Upper crust haiku

It’s 3 point 1-4
March 14th, known as “pi day”
Around math circles

Area of pie,
Circumference of my waist
Sadly do compute

I see apple fall
Unlike Newton I think “pi”
And not gravity

There I go again
Off on tangents — unlike me
Pi never repeats

Cherry or pecan
I like pie, like pi, to go
On infinitely

“Resting with the angles” haiku

Akira Yoshizawa, March 14, 1911 – March 14, 2005

Happy birthday to
Akira Yoshizawa
Magic in creases

Knew when to fold ’em
— And how! — the modern master
Of origami
